Ansible Motion – leading provider of Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulators featuring advanced computational and mechanical performance capabilities – is expanding its existing Delta, Sigma and Theta DIL product series with the addition of Sport variants, each consisting of special features and capabilities expertly tuned for motorsport applications – including new motion architectures to suit limit driving; extended external connectivity options for HIL, SIL, MIL and complex real-time physics and environment models; multi-sim configurations for multi-driver and multi-vehicle scenarios; and expanded option packs for customisation of key performance specifications.
Ansible Motion has a strong motorsport heritage stretching back to its foundation, with racing teams and performance car constructors being among the first to adopt cutting-edge DIL simulation technologies, covering series such as F1, FE, WEC, WRC, NASCAR, IndyCar and off-road. As the company has matured over the last 15 years, it has evolved its product offerings to cover all forms of ground vehicle simulation – including road cars, motorcycles, commercial vehicles, space exploration vehicles and more. In introducing its new Sport products, Ansible Motion is recognising the special performance requirements that exist for racing applications, within the broader, more generalised context of DIL simulation.
Dan Clark, Ansible Motion’s managing director, comments:
The DIL Sport simulators we’re creating for motorsport applications are a breed apart from our other ground vehicle products, with many specialised features and performance enhancements – including seamless compatibility with our multi-sim ecosystem to boost on-track competitive advantages. Racing requires rapid and correct decision making on and off track. The technology we provide needs to be on point. It needs to contribute to teams’ and constructors’ goals – which is, ultimately, identifying and implementing advantages that will win races. That’s why DIL Sport is racing your way. The inclusion of Sport-badged products across our Delta, Sigma and Theta DIL simulator product series offers motorsport customers unique, engineering-grade, future-proof simulator solutions that are built on our reliable simulation backbone, but are purposed toward getting the job done for high-performance vehicles that are continuously evolving under rapid development pressures and are operating on the edge in limit driving situations.
The DIL Sport products will be designed, engineered and built at Ansible Motion’s headquarters in Hethel, England and will expand the company’s growing DIL product portfolio with new static and dynamic simulators designed specifically for competition car manufacturers and teams worldwide.
Recent customer deployments of the first Sport-badged product, Theta Seat Sport, have already been publicised. This is to be followed by a series of formal announcements for multiple new DIL Sport products in the coming months.
In advance of the upcoming, official motorsport-specific product launches, customers and those interested in simulator innovation are invited to register to receive insider product development notices direct from Ansible Motion’s workshop. These notices will include build photos together with preliminary testing and performance details for the exciting new DIL Sport simulators that are set to be . . . racing your way.
