Model-based Software Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software engineer to carry out a Model Based Development (MDB) role with MATLAB, Simulink.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions, with a focus on optimising performance using physics modelling at its foundation.

What will you be doing?

  • Create new software from user requirements specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
  • Design and develop high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code in a MathWorks toolchain.
  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues, and perform root cause analysis for defects in applications.

What are we looking for?

  • Good standard in the following tools in an engineering application:
         - MATLAB
         - Simulink
  • Experience in using physics-based tools to model real world systems.
  • Be a fast and critical thinker, motivated by finding solutions.
  • An ability to multi-task and prioritise work naturally and be well organised.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Applications Team Lead

Role Overview

As the Team Lead you will be managing the Applications Team who are tasked with  bringing together the state of the art sub-systems (computer, vision, audio, motion, and driver) used in our world class Driver-in-the-Loop simulators.  

What will you be doing?

  • Leading a dynamic and talented group of engineers who work on cutting-edge computer and graphical systems on world leading, award-winning, automotive simulators.
  • Implement  simulation-grade multi-projector vision systems, professional-quality audio systems, high end IT systems including PC components and networking equipment.
  • Confirm optimal performance for our simulators before release to customer.
  • Assist with customer support for after-sales.
  • This role has the possibility of travel to international customer installations to commission and service our systems.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in leading teams and being able to communicate clearly.
  • Knowledge of high end PC systems down to component level.
  • Experience of software and firmware configuration.
  • Ability to work with complex systems to high standards in a methodical and repeatable manner.

Electrical Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a multi-skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to carry out a predominantly design role with configuration/testing ability. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing electrical systems and assisting in configuring and testing those systems to meet the desired specifications.

What will you be doing?

  • Creation of design documentation for electrical systems: specifications, cable schedules, block diagrams, Bill of Materials, cable and loom drawings
  • Electrical testing of cable systems and control panels
  • Configuration of hardware
  • Functional testing

What are we looking for?

  • Experience of a variety of electrical systems – control panels, cabling systems, servodrives and logic controllers
  • Test and fault-finding experience
  • Electrical design experience
  • Relevant qualification BTEC or HNC qualification minimum

Project Group Manager

Role Overview

The Project Group Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Project group, managing high profile projects and overseeing a portfolio of projects that include customer-facing driving simulator projects and internal R&D initiatives. The individual will be accountable for ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role requires a proactive approach to risk management, resource planning, and the continuous improvement of project management processes.

What will you be doing?

  • Providing leadership to the Project group and its teams which consist of the project delivery team, procurement team and the logistics function.
  • Responsible for leading certain high-profile projects as the designated project manager.
  • Accountable for a portfolio of all projects, including customer-facing driving simulator projects and internal R&D projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Accountable for the tracking of all projects, creation of management information and key performance indicator reporting (i.e. progress, schedule, cost/profit, risk management, customer satisfaction etc.)
  • Undertaking company-level resource planning and liaising with other groups to ensure projects are adequately resourced to meet targets.
  • Development and implementation of project management tools, methods and processes to improve the overall capability and efficiency of the project management function.
  • Leading and developing the procurement team to take a more strategic approach to project purchases while balancing cost saving initiatives with high quality standards.

What are we looking for?

  • Significant experience in project/program/portfolio management in a technical and/or engineering environment.
  • Recognised project management qualification and/or affiliation (i.e. APM, PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, Critical Path, Lean Six Sigma etc.).
  • Experience in managing and reporting the financial elements of projects.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams, and coaching individuals

Software Integration Engineer

Role Overview

As a Software Integration Engineer you will be a vital link in bridging cutting-edge third-party software and systems to our world class driver-in-the-loop simulators ensuring they operate cohesively.  

What will you be doing?

  • Maintaining the company philosophy of being able to modularly connect to any product based on our customers' requirements.
  • Defining how systems interact in our customer projects. Each one is bespoke, and uses the latest technology.
  • Tailoring connections between a number of software and hardware components used in an automotive context.
  • This role has the possibility of travel to international customer installations to help maintain our systems.

What are we looking for?

  • Capable of understanding the software requirements of real time systems, such as Concurrent, National Instruments, dSPACE, and being able to integrate them in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to work with complex systems, for example HIL or simulation software, to high standards in a methodical and repeatable manner.
  • Experience in using MATLAB/Simulink for systems integration.
  • A fast and critical thinker, motivated by finding solutions to problems.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
